During the 19 years I’ve been teaching English in Taiwan, I have applied my enthusiasm to help students build up their skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. I also believe in gently enabling each student to develop their confidence, while broadening their knowledge of deeply interesting topics, integrating both these elements. I feel patience and passion for teaching are key virtues, as well as being approachable at all times

Postgraduate MA in Museology
Learned through practice and teaching a diversity of curatorial Skills such as documentation, acquisition, sponsorship, events planning and archiving. Became highly knowledgeable in museological theories such as exhibition design. Assisted in staging a museum exhibition themed around travel and exploration. Wrote my dissertation on Curatorial Approaches to Sociocultural Spaces.

2003 - present
Chingshan Language Institute
Teach a wide range of business group classes(governmental, banking, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, high-tech software companies) as well as functional set-ups such as telephoning, product logistics, advertising and sales, meetings, negotiations and presentation. Instruct large group classes in high schools and colleges and teach test preparation class (IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, GEPT). Design and present classes using the CLIL approach (fashion, art, architecture, museums - of banking and human rights). Constantly refer to publications by teaching theorists like H Douglas Brown in order to enhance my explanation of grammatical and syntactical issues.
2002 - 2004
Excel Language Institute
Taught general conversation and IELTS preparation classes, conducted mock IELTS tests and contributed numbers articles to Excel’s online magazine, some of which were published locally. Assisted in designing material for special interest classes in art, fashion and design, as well as questions for mock IELTS reading test. Attended frequent IELTS teaching workshops.
2000 - 2002
Kojen Language Institute
Taught all levels of adult conversation classes, combining textbook grammar and functional exercises with an interactive game-based approach geared towards role plays, board races, dialogue scenarios and story-making. Participated in a broad variety of practical workshops, honing my skills in lesson planning, grammar activities, group set-ups, reading, textbook sourcing and classroom discipline.
02/2000 - 05/2000
Hess International
Language School
Taught childrens’ group classes, which included grammar drilling, board games, miming and activities using flashcards. Participated in a five-week intensive childrens’ teaching workshop.
